Spanglish

Well now the debate is on the table as to whether or not English should be the official Language of the US. Currently Twenty-seven states have official-English laws on the books. But these laws are over shadowed by the federal voter’s rights laws and others. What this means is that the legislation is on the books but we have no desire, nor backing to enforce these laws. California has had English as official language laws on the books for 20 years now, but has yet to enforce or put it into action.

As it has been said many times during the current immigration debates, all peoples coming into the US should have an expectation to learn and understand English in order to comfortably fit into our society. Immigrants for centuries now have had to learn English in order to live in this Country, even the native Americans had to learn English, so why is it now acceptable to not learn English and to make those here learn the language of other countries just so we can communicate and get along.

On the surface this is not a problem, but now there are areas where people are being fired and denied promotions because they do not speak Spanish. So see this issue as it is right now doesn’t seem that big of a deal but if it continues to go on we will see these kinds of restrictions grow and who knows you may be the next to find yourself out of a job just because you failed Spanish in High School.

I don't Get it?

All of the noise that was made in Congress to me is a bit ridiculous.  We have Democrats calling for amnesty for the Illegal Aliens who are currently in the country while the Republicans are saying that they should be treated like the criminals that they are.

Well I must say that when it comes to this matter I must side with those Republicans who are crying "no Amnesty".  Not that I am a staunch republican or Bush supporter, but merely based on the fact of what is right is right.  The media tends to try and sway our thoughts on this issue by down playing it.  The truth of the matter is these are not "Undocumented workers", "illegal Immigrants", or any other PC title we can put on them.  They are simply and truthfully "Trespassers" or as I like to say "Illegal Aliens".  Seeing as how this title justly means that you gained access illegally you should be treated as a criminal.  For instance if I were to jump the fence at the white house I would be treated as a criminal for trespassing, so why is it If someone jumps the fence at the border they should be treated any differently?

Amnesty is not the way to handle this situation, if the U.S. is serious about controlling the borders (which I personally I think they are not) they are going to have to get tough on the illegals who are currently in the country.  If you gain access illegally it is a crime and should be treated as such.  If I break into Fort Knox I can guarantee that I will not receive any special favors.  By showing a show of force we can more than likely lessen the numbers of illegals who come into the country every year.  Now you have those who cry for the children.  Well as I see it the parents put the children in harms way by breaking the law.  Can we say for sure there where no children in the Branch Davidians compound in Waco?  The children should not be taken from there parents, but they do suffer the sins of the father.  And therefore should be sent back with their families.  In this country we often say that if you are born here than you are a US citizen well to quote El Hajj Malik Al-Shabazz, "just because kittens are born in an oven we do not call them biscuits."

The bottom line is this, we need to deal with this issue in real time and stop playing games it seems every few years the numbers of illegals in this country go up dramatically, and without any kind of harsh punishments it will continue to do so.  We have let it go too far, now the illegals are actually protesting and rallying???? WTF?  For one I say that if anything is going to be done about this ( and for the record I seriously don't think it will be) we must enact laws that will not just bark but bite.  We must act on the criminals who are currently in the country and send a message to all that would consider doing the same.

This is just my two cents worth.

What is there for me?

In the midst of all of the things going on in the world today, I took time out to think what is there for me?  Now on the surface this seemed even to me to be an odd question, but the more I thought about it the more overwhelmed I became.  I sit here day to day doing what it is that I do all along deep within there is this boding feeling that I am not who or what I am supposed to be.  In a word I believe I am afraid.  Although I do not know of what I have this feeling.

As far as I can tell everything in my life is great right now, but yet there is a shadow that is looming over me.  I must say that in retrospect I felt the most alive when my back was against the wall and I had to fight on a daily basis just to hold on to what and who I am.  Now a days I guess I feel a lot like the tiger  who was captured in the wild and then placed in a cage at a zoo.

The excitement and the need to always be one step ahead of those around me must have triggered something in me.  I loved the rush of having to think on my feet and having to prepare the next plan before the current one was even in action.  The rush that I felt when I saw that once again I was able to side-step my assailants made me feel whole.  Maybe this is what I am missing now in my life.  There seems to be no drive nor passion in this world for me.

I could become an activist I guess to try and help recharge this emptiness but honestly I do not think that will solve anything.  I was about action and seeing positive returns not just putting my time and energy into something that will not be fixed for generations.  I am lost and alone.

well just wanted to share a little from the gray matter of me.

Can he really be trusted

In the midst of the latest plot by the PREZ the US citizens are once again left sitting around holding their heads wondering, "Can he do that?"  Yesterday morning the PREZ held a press conference upholding and defending the gathering of over 200 million phone records from, Verizon, Bell South and others.  In this latest scheme the PREZ states that this is done in order to safe guard the people from another Terrorist attack.  So how many people are actually afraid of being attacked?  The way I see it the Terrorist have nothing to worry about because the government is doing a good enough job on their own. (Reminds me of V for Vendetta)

Knowing who we call and when, is not a matter of National Security.  Yes as he states there are members of Terrorist organizations living in the US but who allowed them in the first place?  The way that I see it is, and I will stand by this until the day I die, the biggest threat to national security is our current immigration laws.  We allow people to come into the country without doing any kind of security check.  Yet if I want a job in Downtown DC they can hold me on the bench for as long as a year trying to check my background.  Democracy, if this is it no wonder so many countries are fighting it.  Currently the US has taken democracy and thrown it out of the window.

Protection is one thing but if you can not even identify who you are protecting yourself from you are considered to be a paranoid schizophrenic and people are treated for these kinds of conditions.  I had an Aunt who thought she was being watched and followed, they tried to commit her.  So maybe we as a family should commit Uncle Sam because he has plumb lost his mind.  The people of the US need to wake up and realize what is happening to them we have all seen the movie before, the corrupt government takes control and the people are left with nothing.  But I do not think we will see a savior anytime soon in this Drama.

As it has been said "He who trades civil liberties for protection deserves neither"
