Music

I had the opportunity to talk to a friend recently that I hadn't seen in a while. Before we parted ways they told me that their love of hip hop had been shaken. They weren't sure of it any more. Now this person is a Hip Hop fiend such as my self although our draw to hip hop is different the love is still there. Where as I love lyrics and the art of rhyming they are more into the break beats and production. All and all it's all good.

Apparently sometime recently, my friend sat down and listened to someone talking about music. From what I gathered, from our brief but informative chat, the person was saying that music is the tool of sa-tan. As it has been told sa-tan was a musician while living in the kingdom of God. So today he uses music to put his message out to the world.

First of all in order to go with this school of thought you first have to believe in sa-tan or the fact that it exists. The majority mindset of man is that everything is Bi-Polar. Seeing as how so many believe this, it only makes sense that you must have sa-tan in order to believe in God. Now yours truly does not subscribe to the idea of Bi-Polar existence. Instead I believe in a circular, or complete existence. Many people lose sight of this. But a true Muslim, Christian, Jew or Catholic should know this to be true or as usually is the case this has been lost in translation somewhere. But I do believe that in the early chapters of the Bible God proclaims that I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. This is not a Bipolar statement by far. God has decreed that he is the beginning and the end which means that which starts with him shall end with him. Thus the circle of life is formed. As far as I am concerned sa-tan is the creation of man in order to prove the existence of God. God is all inclusive and does not need to be proven into existence. He is because I am.
Now I have said all of that to merely let you know where I am coming from. To say that Hip hop is the tool of sa-tan because of the things that are being said, well I honestly believe that while this could be true, nothing in life is absolute. Yes there are people out here who will use music to get their messages of hate or whatever else across, just as people use spoken word and print to get the same word across. So does that mean that all communication is the tool of sa-tan?

The other point that was brought up was that the people making the music always want to start their thank yous and speeches with "first I would like to thank God." The argument can be made how can you come out and say you want to thank god when you sing about bitches and hoes, drugs and killing? Well as you probably guess I have an opinion about that as well. I believe that no man should be identified by what he does for a living. Can I sing about bitches but love and respect the women in my life. Why yes, yes I can. Why is that? Well simply because the women that I would be singing about are not the women in my life. The truth of the matter is this, there are some women in the world who fit the description of a ho or bitch and if I happen to be talking about them that does not mean that I am talking about all women. If I am singing about drugs and killing, does that make me a drug dealer or murderer? No it does not, we do not look at actors and identify them with the roles that they play. No one believes that Denzel Washington is a murderous drug crazed cop because he played one and did a good job at it. No one will condemn the soldier in Iraq and call him a murderer for simply following the orders that he has been given. Should that soldier lay his head down at night and pray does that make him a hypocrite? So why should we label rappers in the same way. Unfortunately today the business of music dictates what you can and can not make. There is a lot of positive and educational rap out there the problem is you will not hear it on the industry owned airwaves. You will have to start diggin in the crates if you want to find it.

So to my friend I say this, The love and energy you feel and get from music is pure. There is no wrong in it. Continue to walk your path and you shall see the light.

Oh and before I forget Fred, you have always been Major, congrats.

Damn US media

Today in the BBC news there is a story about Gunmen seize Haiti schoolchildren.

Why is this not front page news in the US when i look at us news sources I see stories about Diana who has been dead for ummm let me think 9 YEARS. So why is that news? The US media is probably one of the most juvenile institutions in the world. Here we have two stories on concerning the lives of little children the other concerning a dead woman that most have forgotten. This is just the kind of reporting that we can expect from the POP news business of today. We can not trust our news reports because they will not report news only sensationalism. I already know that the US does not give a damn about the people of Haiti. they would rather travel around the world to save a country that doesn't want to be saved. Rather than help a country that is only about 100 miles from the coast of Florida. I have my opinions about this, the first being that Haiti is a black country and the US could care less about them. But that is just my opinion.

I will continue to follow the reports out of Haiti, I just hope that they are able to get the children out safely.

Pathetic..what more can I say?

I do not think this is Big news but it is Hood News. Yesterday Evel Knievel filed a lawsuit against Kanye West, aka Black Jesus, for apparently ruining his reputation. WTF? OK in 2006 soon to be 2007 who in the hell cares or knows about Evel Knievel who is now 68 years old living his life on an oxygen tank. Reputation? Sounds to me like the sell of EK motorcycle wind-up toys is at an all time low, So what better way to get some Money. That black boy over there associated with Roc-A-Fella records has more than enough. The suit states that:
the Grammy award-winning West, 29, his Roc-A-Fella Records label and the video's director of infringing Knievel's trademark-protected name and likeness. The video, for the hit single Touch the Sky, features West cavorting with Pamela Anderson, the Baywatch actress.
This is sad, understand that I am not a Kanye Fan but this is ridiculous. Let me just put it this way if it wasn't for the video my son wouldn't have any idea who EK is or was. Although truth be told he probably still doesn't.

One article states that EK said that the video makes him look evil and that he is opposed to the "vulgar, sexual and racially charged nature". Okay are there two Touch the Sky Video's ? The one that I saw didn't seem to have any racially charged incidents in it, or did I simply blink and miss that part. EK seems to have forgotten about the undeniable damage that he did to his reputation when he beat the living hell out of Sheldon Saltman a VP at Twentieth Century Fox back in 1977 for saying some things about him in his book, that apparently he didn't like. As the story goes EK and associates held and beat the man with an aluminum bat. So I ask you what rep did Kanye sully? (read more about the trials and tribulations of EK including the beating that he handed Saltman on wikipedia).

Unfortunately this is not the only time something like this has happened, you get someone who is down and out who used to be in the limelight trying to get some money. I hate to say it because so many of you love the woman, but a few years back Rosa Parks, umm people, filed a suit against OutKast for the song Rosa Parks. stating that they used her name without permission? I never knew her name was copyrighted but anyway. this was yet another S.A.S.

Racism a 2007 problem

I really do not need to comment on this one. I have already said it time and time again.

I will follow this up with my own ideas about the situation at a later date. As for now I just thought that this was an interesting read.

Re-Birth

This weekend I went home and reconnected with some old friends. Oddly enough several people asked me what am I reading now? To their surprise my answer was nothing. I was shocked, I have never really seen myself as an avid reader. But I guess I read more than I thought. The idea has inspired me to get back into my reading. Today I have ordered 4 new books in order to rekindle the love for self education. This should add a new dimension to this blog as I am sure to write about some of the ideas which come from the readings. During the weekend I was able to reconnect with a kindred spirit. It felt good just to talk to him for a short while and of course make the vow to keep in touch. The trip all in all was a productive one it has sparked my interest and has propelled me on the path that I have started walking over the last few weeks. If you read the blog then you have obviously noticed a shift in my writing. Trust me this is only the beginning.

Also over the weekend a friend sent me some encouraging words and for that I am thankful so I will say it here thank you Dawn Wolf. Thank you for your words and energy also thank you for the jewel that you have dropped into my lap.

Social Security: Your Piece of The Pie

Rumor has it that Social Security may not be around for you to collect in your retirement years. There's plenty of controversy surrounding the Social Security system, and certain trends are worrisome. To understand the concern, consider how Social Security works.

When you're employed, you pay into the Social Security system in the form of taxes withheld from your paycheck. Through these payments you earn Social Security credits. Your employer also pays into the fund, and together your contributions are used to pay today's Social Security recipients. When you retire, some of the money you draw upon will be contributed by tomorrow's workers.

The amount of your Social Security benefit will depend on your earnings averaged over most of your working career and on the age you begin receiving the benefit. The earlier you decide to retire, the smaller your monthly check will be. But did you know that Social Security is likely to provide you with less than 40% of the amount you earn at the time you retire?

Now back to the key question. Will you ever see your payout from Social Security? Consider this: Census figures indicate that in the near future, when the huge population of baby boomers begins to reach retirement age, the number of retirees will grow much more quickly than will the number of workers supporting them. So money will be flowing out of the system faster than it flows in. There is concern that Social Security could run out of money as early as 2029.

The federal government has promised that the money will be there. In order to keep its promise, however, the government will have to cover a shortfall, probably by increasing taxes or reducing benefit levels now or in the future.

Whether Social Security will be more than pie in the sky remains to be seen. Whatever happens with Social Security, your future financial well-being is in your own hands. Used effectively, your retirement saving plan is still the best opportunity you will have to provide adequately, even handsomely, for your retirement years.

Healthy Cells

Glyconutrients - The Super Sugars That heal

I stumbled upon this reading while doing some research for a friend. The Idea of natural sugars being needed in order to stimulate cellular health intrigued me so I am going to give it a test run.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Today

This Morning I arise with a new purpose and since of understanding. I do not rightly know what has brought about this feeling, but I am just going along with it. I have taken on the daunting task of creating a web site. I wanted to create a site that I could use as fuel for and an addition to this Blog. A place where others could voice their opinions and concerns. Basically a community portal. Keep in mind that I am not a web developer or anything like that so this task is major. But who knows I may be able to pull it off.

So please if there is any thing news worthy or gripe worthy let me know so we can add it to the sight. There is also an event calendar on the site so if you have a function we can add that too. Hope to talk to ...someone soon!

PRINCIPLES FOR ACTION

Malcolm X: A Research Site

The Campaign to Remember Malcolm in the 1990's is designed to encourage the militant rebirth of radical consciousness and mass action. These principles should guide us:

  1. FOLLOW MALCOLM X's EXAMPLE
There are more myths than truth about Malcolm X. The first task is to study what Malcolm actually said and what he did. It is important to follow his entire life and not just one part of it. He went through four stages. The challenge for us is to begin where Malcolm X left off, therefore the most important speeches are those he gave in the last 6 months of his life. There are no easy answers, no ready made solutions. We have to be serious, disciplined, and we have to study.

  2. SPREAD THE WORD
In order that others will be able to follow Malcolm X's example we have to make sure that his books are available to as many people as possible. We have to make sure his books are in every library, and bookstore. Every home library should have books by Malcolm X, and toward this end his books should be given as gifts on birthdays and holidays. Students should do research on Malcolm X in school.

  3. ORGANIZE COMMUNITY SELF DEFENSE
Self respect requires self-defense against all forms of attack. Black people are attacked on all fronts, mentally, culturally, socially, politically, and physically. In the USA racist attacks have always threatened the survival of Black people. What we need is the local organization of militant activist study groups. These groups have to be independent, engage in study, use only community based resources, develop collective democratic decision making, and stay away from the news media. The main tactic of self-defense is to educate and mobilize the community to arm themselves with knowledge, and then to fight their oppressors by any means necessary to gain freedom and justice.

  4. RESPECT AND PROTECT BLACK WOMEN
Black women have the responsibility to build an independent movement to fight for their special rights, and to make a special contribution to building the overall self-defense of the community. Special effort should be made to develop women as leaders, mastering the skills of public speaking and political analysis.

  5. BUILD INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY
Malcolm X directed us to a global analysis, and he stressed unity with friends. It is critical now to unite through concrete acts of solidarity with our friends in South Africa, Eritrea, Palestine, Cuba, El Salvador, and Haiti. Moreover, we must prepare for the overall world struggle against new forms of imperialism and the neo colonial state in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

What we Know...

Yesterday was a good day for me I was able to vibe with several brothers in the course of one day. At the Gym last night a brother that i talk to on a regular basis and I began to talk about the word Nigger and this lead to other discussions. This brothers views on the word was interesting and deeply thought about. And that moved me and gave me the ability to discuss other things with him. We talked for about 40 minutes to an hour about this topic and others. This brother is very educated and I believe that he is a Lawyer here in the D.C area. When I began tying in the history and struggle of blacks and key figures in the struggle I saw a reaction that I had not expected. He seemed to have that look in his eye where he was being introduced to New information. I had tapped into fertile ground. Let me tell you there is no feeling better than this. When you find someone who is RAW and willing to learn, lets just say that it is a power feeling. Ask any Teacher that you know who loves what they do, they'll attest.

This brother and I touched on the Civil Rights movement, Black Power, and the lack of knowledge of these things today in our children. Being that he is from the South, I think Mississippi to be exact, he understands the feelings behind these topics and has first hand accounts of the RAW and uncut nature of the word Nigger. And this is a more powerful lesson than anything that can be taught in school or anywhere else. I must admit that I look forward to speaking to the brother again and going further into depth with these and other topics.

Sadly enough these kinds of interactions are far and few in between. I know for a fact that it is easier for us to sit around and talk about sports and things of that nature because there we are all on a level playing field. But in the end we do not learn anything new, because next week it all changes. These types of dialog are powerful because the information and the ideas taken away from them stay with us. We may not always agree with what the others around us may say but we tend to find our truth in some of it and walk away with that Jewel.

My direction today is to try and spark more of this type of dialog and to hopefully build it into a group who will willingly and eagerly meet on a regular basis in order to discuss life as it is for us.

Cypher!

Last night I had the opportunity to join a cypher with 5 other brothers of which I was probably the second youngest. The group appeared to be a collection of varying backgrounds. As I was the newest person to join this little group which meets twice a month. I opted to sit back and absorb as much as I can. But of course knowing the Nature of my Energy I chimed in, in little time.

The Topic which was being discussed was meaning/purpose - why does it take men so long to find theirs? The question was interesting although not one that I personally had not thought of before time and again. As I tell people, that I know I did not become a man until I was about 33 years old. Now what this means is that I do not feel that I made the transition from boy to man until this time. In a sense I had not found my purpose/meaning. I have always known and have been comfortable about who and what I am, But my path has always been unclear. I did not know in which direction I was going. One of the Brothers in the group posed the question can we find our purpose and be happy without the involvement of Financial means? I believe you can. I honestly believe that I did. My inner peace came long before I had a since of financial peace. I am not going to sit here and lie to anyone. When I say financial Peace I mean the ability and the means to pay my bills monthly without worry. Now this does not mean that I am financially secure, it simply means I can pay the bills that I have. I have always believed that even without money I would find a way to survive and be happy. Growing up without a lot of money I learned to enjoy life without possessions. As I am older now and far from where I started I will say it is nice to be able to have possessions, but I know that they do not make me, and knowing this they will not break me.

All in all last nights session was enjoyable and enlightening. I look forward to the next.

Pay your Bill

Black Power was a political movement that arose in the middle
1960s, that strove to express a new racial consciousness among Blacks
in the United States. Robert Williams, who revived the Monroe, NC
chapter of the NAACP and later entered exile in Cuba and China, was the
first to put the actual term to effective use in the late 1950s.
Williams, who was also the first to publish the poetry of Ray Durem,
used the phrase "Black Power" in the American political context.

One main point of the Black Power Concept was the necessity for
Black people to define the world in their own terms. At times this
included a call for revolutionary political struggle to reject racism
and imperialism in the United States. As the Black Power Concept began
to grow, it also began to build resistance and condemnation from whites
and from several African American organizations, including the NAACP,
because of the anti-white message associated (often unfairly) with
Black Power.

When the Black Panther Party began to grow in the late 1960s,
it became the largest Black organization advocating Black Power.
Eventually because of the continual condemnation of the theory of Black
Power as a separatist and anti-white movement, along with the
destruction of the Black Panthers in the early 70s, the Black Power
Concept seemed to disappear. Yet, scholars of African American art and
politics still see the idea of Black Power as a strong effect on the
consciousness of Black America today, though its institutions have been
destroyed and the radical politics largely discredited and defused. In
essence, the focus on cultural autonomy and self-esteem of the Black
Power Movement has survived and, not surprisingly, grown in strength.

Okay people the following excerpt was taken from the University of Michigan's web site.

I wanted to start the week off in a big way. so what better way than this. What happened to us did we just give up? The Term Black Power today is almost non-existent. The Same people that are now running around condemning the "N" word are the same ones that caused it to grow and to go unchecked. I know this is a big leap but in the 60's and 70's there where many blacks who spoke out against the Black Power movement. Had these individuals embraced the movement instead, today maybe our children and their children would have had something tangible to hold on to rather than a dead man's "DREAM". Few people today really know anything about Black Power yeah they know the slogan they now the sign, but that is it. What black power stood for and what it was about are lost to this generation. Just think of the ways that the oppressor has tricked our own people into turning against themselves.

In my humble opinion Black People today need to turn on the NAACP and stop paying homage to this cancerous entity. I have my issues with the NAACP. This organization is nothing more than a tool that the oppressor has put into place in order to keep blacks in check. The Overseer if you will. Even on the Plantations the master would have a few blacks who would watch-over and keep the rest in line and if needed to run and tell him of any disturbances coming up. Now-a-days it is harder to that so they have sold us the idea of a group fighting for us so that we do not have to fight for ourselves. But now if you have kept up with this Blog you have already ready a post I did a while back about the NAACP and their endorsement of the PREZ.

It is our "the collective black thought" responsibility to bring the idea's and philosophies of the Black Power movement back into existence. It was these types of movements which had the biggest chance of bringing about change for Blacks in this country, that is why they where destroyed. Think about it. White America never feared the Civil Rights Movement because it was a system that basically worked within the Laws that they made. So there was no real threat to their way of life. But those movements that called for blacks to work outside of the mere idea of asking the Oppressor to treat us better met with heavy and deadly resistance. Proof of this is the Assassination of El Hajj Malik El Shabazz, when he started to speak of Blacks taking our case to the UN in an effort to fight for our Human Rights which where being violated, he was dealt with. When Martin started to stray from the conservative approach and actually started to listen to some of these other blacks ie. Shabazz he became a liability and had to be dealt with. This trend goes on and on. Our Freedom of speech only goes as far as they allow it to.

So it is on this day that I call out to all of my people to go out and Pay your Power Bill, it is time to turn the lights back on.

N.O.O

The day has come for my brothers and sisters
to learn of themselves.
as I sit and watch from my window
I see the blind and lifeless Niggers of Old
joyously living their lives as if nothing is wrong
never once do they stop to think about where they are going
or even where they have been.

Do they know that their
grandparents and great grandparents
died so that
they could have a fighting chance
to make something of their lives.
It seems as if they just don't care !

They keep struggling to get back to the bottom.

The master has systematically
re institutionalized
slavery
in order to control the
Niggers of Old

Slavery exists today through
the means of
Welfare and Prison
The number of blacks incarcerated
by these systems of slavery
are astronomical.

The Niggers of Old just keep stepping
on one another trying to get to the Top
of the Bottom.

Never do they think that master is the cause of their misery
shall I be the one to tell them
that unanimity is the key

I have learned that brother Malcolm
tried
but was slaughtered by the same
Nigger
that he loved so dearly.

Shall I fall victim
to the same Nigger
If I try to set them free
or will they listen and learn
from the gifts that I hold for them?

The "N" Word

After the issue last week with Michael Richards, a lot of discussions have arisen concerning the infamous "N" word or Nigger...there I said it. Well here is my stance on this word.

Honestly I feel that blacks need to let go of the word. The most ignorant thing that I have ever seen is a black man who calls everyone he knows his nigger but has the audacity to get mad if a non black uses the word. If you are going to be offended by the word then be offended when anyone uses it, not just those who do not look like you.

Actually I could care less who calls me the name. After years of Universal Education I have learned that words are vapor. What I mean by this is that a word only has as much power as you give it. If someone calls you a retard are you going to get mad and start a ruckus? Probably not because you know that you are not a retard. so why should you get offended when someone calls you the other. The only reason I can think of is because subconsciously you still think of yourself as one. My people it is time to shed the brainwashing of slavery and take our rightful place on the World stage. You are not a Nigger, you are not inferior you are a direct descendant of GOD so wake up and act like it. It is sad that we are still struggling with an identity crisis. It is time to exhale and to let go of the old ways and start anew.

We continually hold ourselves back by thinking like Niggers and believing everything that our oppressors have taught us. Lets stop backstabbing each other, robbing our neighbors, killing our relatives, abusing our children and loved ones. Start acting like Kings and Queens, Gods and Earths. Be the solution to your problems instead of the cause of your problems.

I am going to step down from my box, but I will return. Until then be about change.

A new ERA

Since Bloomberg has taken the most prestigious mayorship in the world he has been somewhat low key and for all accounts doing okay. Today I can across a news article in USA TODAY. It appears 5 NY Police officers fire over 50 rounds at a group of men leaving a strip club Saturday Morning. "Story" I bring this up because similar shootings in NY under the reign of Guilianni went unquestioned. It is good to see that Bloomberg can see the obvious. There is no reason for the police to shoot any one man over 10 times. I am sorry but that is just the way that I feel. We all remember the story of Amadou Diallo which was probably one of the most heinous acts of police brutality to occur in a long time. I understand that the Police have a very hard job to do. In many cases it is unclear who is good and who is bad. But just as in any job you have to use common sense. So please just take a minute and count if you have fired 5 times pause and see if anyone is shooting back before continuing.

Richards

Well I guess I should go ahead and speak out about the Michael Richards incident. (DISCLAIMER: if I don't say anything they will undoubtedly revoke my Race card.) Well it seems that "Kramer" has managed to get the entire black community mad at him. Seems like a shoe in for political office. Well as usual I look at the situation and I say " umm SO WHAT!" the man called a a person or persons niggers. From the reports it sounds as if they where in fact acting like niggers. Black people my people need to get off of this damn train. Let the word die already. You are only a Nigger if you believe you are a Nigger. Had Richards called them kikes and said 70 years ago we would have burned you alive. Would those individuals have been offended? probably not, they would have laughed at him as if he was crazy. Sadly enough they probably would have asked the question " what in the hell is he talking about?" But he didn't say that he said the infamous N word.

Okay if you are not black please do not read the following.

People wake the hell up. If you are going to get mad every time a non-black person uses the word nigger, then stop using it your damn self. This is the stupidest argument in the history or man. You call yourself a name that no one else is allowed to call you. go figure. We have a serious mental defect and we need help. Your boys can call you nigger and it is a term of endearment, an enemy can call you one and you are not any madder(is that a word?). But low and behold let a white person call you that and all hell breaks loose. Why is that? Women you have the same issue with the Word Bitch and Ho, think about it. All I am saying is grow up.

Okay you can start reading again.

I stand behind the mis-guided belief that this word is only as powerful as you make it. As for me if anyone calls me a nigger I could care less. For one reason I am not an animal that you can make attack by giving a command word. Usually this is the reason the word is used. To get you to react. The way I see it Nigger has no color. But if black people want to keep associating themselves with the word then they will never get past the stigma. Think about it I have never heard a white man great another white man by calling him "cracker" "ofay" "honkey" or any other ignorant term. Hell if you call one by these names they just look at you and walk off. Learn from them.

Please just stop to think for a minute and you will undoubtedly be able to avoid a certain "Nigger Moment."

Random Thoughts

Today there is no set topic for the post I am just going to ramble about things on my mind.

Over the weekend I have a few conversations with various people. One of which was trying to rekindle old flames. while listening and speaking to my friend I realized that this is a natural accurance. Even I myself am guilty of being held captive by this siren's song. The one thing that many of us do not think of during the time that we are aimlessly drawn into this abyss is that when the relationship with the said individual ended or never started it was for a reason. Our judement is clouded with the idea of being able to go back to where we were and start over. WRONG! this can not happen we forget that just as we have grown and now are in a better place to deal with that person, that person has also grown and is not the same person that we knew way back when. Thus making our attempts to restart something that has lived within our memories as the greatest love is nothing more than a fabricated fairy-tale that we tell ourselves when we need to find something comforting to depend on.

Another topic that was discussed was the idea or the fact of not having a father. I have never known my father and although would one day like to meet him, I do not feel like I have missed out on anything in life by his absense. Although I must say that I did have a father figure in my life so maybe that is why I feel the way I do. But I think of all of the people who have grown up without a father or father-figure and I wonder does it change you in any way? I know there are a lot of people in this world who where raised by their mothers or some other family member and never knew their fathers who have gone on to do great things, while on the other hand you have those who end up in very sad situations. I wonder is it the lack of a father that causes this or the lack of a nurturing enviornment. I myself lean towards the foundation of a nurturing enviornment. If you have someone who is there for you and makes you feel safe and secure as a child you can grow and do anything you want. However if you are never sure of life or what will happen next you tend to stray and do whatever it takes to sustain and protect your life, thus the end result often turns into a sad situation.

well that is it for my ramblings today, tomorrow I will have something better to talk about....I hope.

Relationships

Today I have decided to try something different. I thought that I would continue a conversation that I had with a friend earlier this week. We were discussing relationships and in the midst of the conversation I realized that I have grown as a Person. The discussion started off asking that age old question, What is the use? This lead to a 30 minute typing frenzy on my part talking about people of today. So I thought I would share some of that with you.

/>It is my stance that in today's society we have become lazy as a whole. We expect everything to come to us easily and we are afraid of any real work. I mean think about it 80 years ago we still had a lot of our families working on small farms trying to feed their large families. People getting up at the crack of dawn walking to work and lifting and heaving all day long. They knew what hard work was and they did it not because they wanted to but because they had to. I say all of that for one reason a relationship is like working a farm. You have to work at it everyday in order for it to be productive. It is not a thing that you can ignore and it will still return dividends. It is a hands on job which both have to work at. When there is a problem the family was out in the fields trying to fix it, and the same energy needs to be put into our relationships today. People are always saying there are other fish in the sea. But the truth is if you don't know how to reel the fish in and keep them in the boat it is all for not.

Today's wake up call is to go out and start cultivating your relationships.

Rumsfeld sued by German group for war crimes

By ASSOCIATED PRESS

Civil rights activists said they would file a
suit Tuesday asking German prosecutors to investigate former U.S.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and a host of other officials on
allegations of war crimes for their alleged roles in abuse at Iraq's
Abu Ghraib prison and Guantanamo Bay.

The 220-page suit is being filed by US and German attorneys
under a German law that allows the prosecution of war crimes regardless
of where they were committed. It alleges that Rumsfeld personally
ordered and condoned torture.

"One of the goals has been to say a torturer is someone who
cannot be given a safe haven," said Michael Ratner, the president of
New York's Center for Constitutional Rights, which is behind the
litigation.

"It sends a strong message that this is not acceptable."

The suit is brought on behalf of 12 alleged torture victims - 11
Iraqis held at Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison and Mohamad al-Qahtani, a
Saudi being held at the US military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, who
has been identified by the US as a would-be participant in the Sept. 11
attacks

----------

How funny is this? It seems that when it rains it pours. I am waiting for the MIllions and I mean Millions of US citizens to come out in support of Rumsfeld during these trying times. The Germans may no a little something about torture so who better to bring these charges up. There have been many questions around why Donald Rumsfeld all of a sudden stepped down after so adamantly declined to do so on several other occasions.

Could it be that he knew what was coming with the inception of the Democratic House and Senate? Or maybe it was the news of this pending investigation that got him to step Down? I guess we will never know what caused the sudden change of heart, and honestly it doesn't matter.

Now the Democrats have had control for a whole week and gas prices are starting to inch their way back up (take a look you'll see) we are in the middle of a war that we do not want, medicare is all but useless now. oh yeah open enrollment has started. I tell you we are in worse shape now then we were when the Republicans where in office.

I mean really what is the use.

Election Day

Good morning today is by all reasonable concerns Election day around the country. As usual I have been told that because I choose not to vote I do not have the right to an opinion concerning the government of the country. This ,although not the first time someone has spewed this ridiculous nonsense out of their mouths, is a sign of just how programmed and ignorant to the truth we as Americans have become.

Some people believe that it is better to vote then to waste your vote. UGH! this is ummm STUPID! yeah I said it. Think about it if you as a voter have looked at the platforms of all the candidates in your area and do not entirely agree with any of them , why would you vote? just for the sake of saying I let my voice be heard? lol that is funny because your voice has not been heard because if your voice had been heard then you would be voting for someone that you believe in whole heartedly that you believe will work in your best interest. But is this the case, in most cases NO. We tend to vote for the lesser of two Evils (as if that makes any since at all). What I guess that means is that if Hitler and Mussolini where on the Ballot people would vote for Mussolini. How ignorant is that. The way to let the government hear your voice is to stand up and say with no hesitation I am not going to vote for any of these people because I do not believe in them. Think about it.

Another reason I choose not to vote is because the System is broken. What we call Democracy is far from it. The electoral college has all the power in our election process not the people. Open your eyes haven't you learned anything over the last 6 years. The popular vote (aka peoples vote) has added up to mean nothing. You have been screwed out of two elections but yet you still think the system is about you. This in the medical world is called a placebo. You have been CONed. Open your EYES. The people in the country need to wake up and take a stand. Try not voting show your true power let these politicians know that you are tired of being left out in the cold like a yard dog.

To me it seems that you people who vote for the sake of voting are the ones wasting a vote. Think of it this way if you have a thousand dollars in your pocket and you go into a store if they do not have anything you want you are not going to waste your money buying something just because you are there so why should this be any different. WAKE UP!

Pride

I now know what it means to be a Proud Parent,  Not that I am a new parent but I have been lost to a lot of feelings during my life.  I have not always felt the things that others in similar situations felt.  But now that I look back through those times I can recall two moments in my life where I felt like a proud parent.

The first came about 13 years ago while at my mothers house.  I was sitting at the dining room table and my mother was talking to my son in the background.  She was asking him about Santa Clause and he replied Santa is black.  She then asked him about the Easter Bunny and he replied once again he is Black, this went on for a while as she asked him about the mythological entities that we have created for children.  But then the moment came that made my chest swell and a smile swept over my face uncontrollably.  My then 5 year old son looked at his grandmother in all innocence and told her that I ain't giving no love to the White devils or the Black devils either.  This was the first time I felt that sense of pride in my child.  Many years past and I lost that feeling however I still loved my son like no other.  Over the years I have felt as though I lost my son to the teachings of equality and assimilation, but recently while attending my sons boot camp graduation I once again felt that swelling in my chest.    It dawned on me as I sat there on the crowded bleachers that I was watching myself once again.  I finally saw that although all of these years have past and no matter how people have tried to turn my son he was in fact either  consciously or unconsciously following in my foot steps.

I now wonder when I walked my path was I following in my fathers foot steps?  Although I have never met him face to face that I can remember, I have been told that I act like him.  Just as my son acts like me.  This bond is more powerful than any other that I have ever witnessed and Now I know what Pride is.  No matter how twisted and difficult the path may have been my Son is just that my Son, and extension of me.

CSE

I have set here and read blogs about the rights of Feminists, Gays, and Immigrants all along thinking that there is one group that no one seems to care about or want to fight for. The group that I am referring to are Fathers and Mothers who do not live with there children either due to Divorce or just having children out of Wed-lock.

The Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE) like most government social programs was a great idea, because a number of men where turning there backs on their children just because they didn't get along with the mother. But as so many of these great social programs go, it has been left out on it's own and has turned into a raging beast. Much like the abandoned children it is trying to help. The system is set up in a way to protect the custodial parent and the children. The non-custodial parent is often treated like a criminal or like they have committed some outrageous sin. Do not misunderstand me I know that there are a lot of Dead Beats out there that run and hide; and do whatever they can to avoid paying for the children that they have created. I am not speaking about them in this post. I am speaking for the ones who love their children and have no problem doing what thy have to in order to help.

The laws governing DCSE do not seem to care one way or the other. All non-custodial's are lumped together. Now I know the custodial parents will sit back and argue about how hard it is to raise a child and the burden falls on them and so on and so on. I am not talking about them either. this is strictly for the NC. I would like to propose that the government look into the system and give something back to those people who are upholding their responsibilities and doing the right thing. I am not saying lower the payment amounts or anything like that, what I propose is make it a pre-tax deduction that way you give something back without giving anything back. Or you could simply allow the NC to claim their child as a dependant. These request are small and insignificant in nature but would mean so much to the people that are affected by them.

To be Continued.

Political Immaturity

I would like to know where did the art of Political Mudslinging come from? This has to be the most ridiculous method used by candidates today. I mean are the people so ignorant that we still play the he said she said game. Do we really care who did what 15 years ago? wait a minute this is the Nation that made the talk show famous..Jerry, Rickie, damn. Maybe we do care. But if we do then someone tell me why? As for me I could care less what someone did in the past. All I care about is whether or not they can do what they say they can do. If they can't then I don't want to talk to them.

As for politicians grow up! Start saying what you mean and meaning what you say, let your word be your beacon. Start showing the people that if you say you are going to fight for something then that is what you are going to do. We need politicians who are not afraid to stand out on a plank by themselves in order to fight for what is right. This party politics BS is killing Democracy or at least what we call Democracy. How can you be for the People by the People if you do not listen to the People. Instead in today's politics the elected officials act in the best interest of the people much as parents do for their children. They tell us what they think we can handle and hide that which they think we can't. If it is the Governments job to protect the people, who protects the People from the Government?

I hate to say it People but the form of Government practiced in the US is no longer Democracy instead is it Capitalism. Because all of our elected officials have been bought by those with the power and money. We the poor people are just cattle being herded towards their eminent destruction. It seems to me that Revolution is in order because that is the only way that the people will regain control of the Government that has abandoned them.

Edu my cation

Here is something to think about.

In the US, according to information released by the government, a bachelors degree is worth about $23,000.00 a year. What this means is that a person with a bachelors degree on average makes 23k more than a person with a High School diploma. It seems to me that ummm that is not a lot of money. Considering that I have to pay on average $30,207.00 (Private Institutions) a year for the degree. So by the time I get my degree and I am making that whopping 23K a year more than richie, who works as a phone operator for bell south, I owe about 40k in student loans. depressing.

Now lets look at the other side of this, the cost of college is increasing steadily. This year alone in New York the cost of tuition and fees at public 4 year colleges increased by 6.3% over last year.

Now because of our educationally concerned president's "No Child Left Behind" initiative, The share of grants in funding undergraduate college education has declined each year to 42 percent in 2005-06 from 48 percent in 2001-02. This year alone it appears that the amount of Pell grants is down by $120.00 per student. The average assistance received from all sources is about $4,433.00. Now if you take this number and subtract it from the cost of schools we the student would owe $403.00 per semester to attend a public college in NY. Now should I aspire to attend a private school in the Empire state I would owe $4,486.00 a year.

How can we expect to compete with the world when we make it damn impossible for our children to get the kind of education that would empower them to compete. They say Kids in America are falling behind educationally, well it may not be their faults. From this and other information that I have found it seems that our government is setting our children up to fail. We consistantly cut funding for education and increase spending in the Military. Where is the sense in that.

"No Child Left Behind"...this is as silly as Nancy Reagans "Just Say No"
Fugg these out of touch with reality fuggers. I'm Done.

Whatever!

Today I wanted to talk about the Nuclear arms issues. The US came out hard and fast against Iraq because we thought they had Nuclear capabilities. We destroyed their country. The US has come out hard against Iran who has Materials to possibly create a Nuclear Weapon. We are currently seeking Sanctions against them, and try to do whatever we can to put an end to it. There has even been talk of possibly military actions. But now this is where is gets fuzzy, N. Korea has tested a Nuclear Weapon and the president has said that we are upset???? WTF! It seems to me that this is a little backwards. Why does it seem that the closer you are to having a weapon the less concerned they seem in Washington. It reminds of the bully in grade school who will go and pick on and beat everyone in the school except those he believes to bigger than him.

Why is it that our PREZ is not on TV condemning N. Korea and ranting and raving about the threat to world peace. Instead it is like they feel if we do not look at him he will go away. So far the only people who have come out and have taken a hard line towards this is China. US where you at? Why you ain't bucking. What's Up? It seems to me that Bush is a Punk he has no problem running at people and jumping in the faces of people that he knows he can beat (or at least thought he could beat). Does this mean that the US is now a cowardly bully? Does this not make us seem to be weak in the face of terrorism?

LOL i am tickled and can't wait to see what comes out of it.

Did he say that?

today I was reading news from around the world and came across a small story in the Zaman Daily Newspaper. the Article was interesting because it was talking about Eid al-Fitr (The Celebration that comes at the end of Ramadan). in the story there was a quote from our illustrious PREZ. in the statement President Bush noted that “Islam is a great faith that has transcended racial and ethnic divisions and brought hope and comfort to many people.” ????

I was left sitting looking at the story like who wrote this? I was looking for Tony snow's name somewhere but didn't see it. Wow the PREZ (The beacon of Christianity) gave props to ISLAM. This just goes to prove my life long point that words mean nothing. they only have as much weight as the person, delivering and receiving them, give them. His words although very poetic and comforting go in total contrast of his actions. Bush since day one has been at war with ISLAM and has all but tried to destroy it. He has turned a Nation against people just for being ISLAMIC. The current situation in the Middle East is proof positive of this. The Bush and Reagan agenda has been the same since inception, If it comes from Islam it is without merit and it's only means is to destroy the world.

Also this morning I came across an article on CNN.com which was given by the mouth piece Tony Snow. He stated that the presidents meaning of Stay the Course is not a rigid plan but a flexible one. the PREZ explained that stay the course simply means continue to do what you are doing as long as it is working and if it is not then change it. ???? once again I ask myself "did he say that" it is funny how when the mid-terms come around words change and people play the word game. PREZ if this is the case then why has it taken all these years for you to come out and finally enlighten us the poor and ignorant? The Word Game.

No matter what you hear or Read just remember the truth will show itself if you look for it. To simply read or hear one side and form and opinion is simply and completely ignorant. SO people please remove your HIJAB's and open your eyes wide.

Don't get Hoodwinked!

Are We Ready? the Obama issue

Sunday on Meet the Press US Senator Barack Obama (not to be confused with Osama Bin Laden) announced that he may seek the Dem. parties nomination for the 2008 Pres. Election. Now exactly what does this mean? As a conspiracy theorist this is my thoughts on it.

Although in no form shape or fashion do I think that Obama wouldn't make an excellent candidate and one of the best to run in some time. But the truth of the matter is, is America ready to take this step? For some reason I think not. The poor white red necks of the country would vote against him well just cause. Big Money aka Big Business would vote against him well because he is a Democrate. and well the rest of us would just be skeptical.

At this point if he were to run I think it would almost assuredly secure another 4 years for the Republicans. Why because like it or not America is still color blind. Besides what kind of message would we be sending to the rest of the world if we in fact had a black president with an Islamic name. Wait a minute...hmmmmm. Maybe America would look more tolerant of people of color. Maybe the policy towards the Middle East would subside and maybe just maybe we could start to heal the middle east instead of tearing it apart.

Okay, now that I have awaken from my euphoric dream state, lets continue. Obama is an excellent senator if you have ever listened to him speak you can't help but feel this. I for one would vote for Barack Obama in the Election should he run simply because I believe that what the US needs is a drastic change in order to start rebuilding our image. You can bvet your house and family on the fact that you will hear more from me concerning this issue as for now... That's all Folks!

RIGHT ABOUT NOW

The title just seemed to be what I needed for this entry. Some of you may recognize it others well you are just missing out. Well anyway this is just to let everyone know where I am right about now.

Today I am free in mind, body, and spirit. I feel liberated and affirmed. A powerful wave has washed over me and I am happy. My eyes are wide open again and my energy is level. This is in deed a good day. I have been listening to positive yet insightful music. I believe it is time for me to extend my energy out into the world and put it to use. A wise man once told that I had a gift and once I stopped running it would set me on fire, well I am thinking the time is now.

My life is good and it is time to do good.

"Get by" Talib Kweli

[Talib]

Yeah.. my Lord.. yeah

[Verse 1: Talib]

We sell crack to our own out the back of our homes

We smell the musk of the dusk in the crack of the dawn

We go through episodes too like "Attack of the Clones"

Work 'til we break our back and you hear the crack of the bone

To get by.. just to get by

Just to get by, just to get by

We commute to computers

Spirits stay mute while your egos spread rumors

We survivalists, turned to consumers

Just to get by.. just to get by

Just to get by, just to get by

Ask me why some people got to live in a trailer, cuss like a sailor

I paint a picture with the pen like Norman Mailer

Mi abuela raised three daughters all by herself, with no help

I think about her struggle and I find the strength in myself

These words, melt in my mouth

They hot, like the jail cell in the South

Before my nigga Core bailed me out

To get by.. just to get by

Just to get by, just to get by

We do or die like Bed-Stuy through the red sky

with the window of the red eye

Let the lead fly, some G. Rap shit, "Livin' to Let Die"

[Chorus: Background singers]

This morning, I woke up

Feeling brand new I jumped up

Feeling my highs, and my lows

In my soul, and my goals

Just to stop smokin, and stop drinkin

And I've been thinkin - I got my reasons

Just to get (by), just to get (by)

Just to get (by), just to get (by)

[Talib and background singers]

(ba ba ba, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da badahh

Just to get (by), just to get (by)

Just to get (by by by by by by)

(ba ba ba, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da bada, ba da badahh

Just to get (by), just to get (by)

Just to get (by), just to get (by)

[Verse 2: Talib]

We keep it gangster say "fo shizzle", "fo sheezy" and "stayin crunk"

its easy to "pull a breezy", "smoke trees", and "we stay drunk"

Yo, I activism - attackin the system, the blacks and latins in prison

Numbers of prison they victim lackin in the vision

Shit and all they got is rappin to listen to

I let them know we missin you, the love is unconditional

Even when the condition is critical, when the livin is miserable

Your position is pivotal, I ain't bullshittin you

Now, why would I lie? Just to get by?

Just to get by, to get fly

The TV got us reachin for stars

Not the ones between Venus and Mars, the ones that be readin for parts

Some people get breast enhancements and penis enlargers

Saturday sinners Sunday morning at the feet of the Father

They need somethin to rely on, we get high on all types of drugs

When, all you really need is love

To get by.. just to get by

Just to get by, just to get by

Our parents sing like John Lennon, "Imagine all the people", watch

we rock like Paul McCartney from now until the last Beatle drop

[Chorus: Background singers]

This morning, I woke up

Feeling brand new and I jumped up

Feeling my high's, and my low's

In my soul, and my goals

Just to stop smoking, and stop drinking

And I've been thinking - I've got my reasons

Just to get (by), just to get (by)

Just to get (by), just to get (by)

[Talib: repeat 2X - with background singers]

Yo yo yo yo, yo

Some people cry,and some people try

Just to get by, for a piece of the pie

You love to eat and get high

We decieve when we lie, and we keepin it fly

Yo yo yo yo, yo

When, the people decide, to keep a disguise

Can't see the eyes, see the evil inside

But there's people you find

Strong or feeble in mind, I stay readin the signs yo yo yo yo yo

For those of you, the one or two people, who know me you know this topic comes up often. Many think it but the truly enlightened just say it. I often wrestle with the idea of which box should I be put in. If you have read any of the entries in this Blog I am sure you have already put me into one of the boxes. But after reading the definitions of the words I am perplexed.

To me I see myself as well a little bit of them all. but I must say that misanthrope just feels right.
But really lets look at this. I am a strong willed individual who is not afraid to speak his mind, Often times people do not agree with me and that is their right. But because I say what I feel does that make me a bad person or should I be labled with one of this often negative adjectives. I think not, I think that more people need to stop being so damn afraid of being called a name and speak their minds. We are so caught up in trying to be PC that we lie to each other on a daily basis. Is this the type of society that you want to live in? One where you can not trust anything that anyone tells you because it is traditional to lie in order to not offend?

I'll tell you now that anyone who knows me I would rather have you tell me the truth at any cost then to lie to me outright. I may be hurt by the truth but I'll hate you for lying.

I'm done.

WTF!

Ok today I am in a bad mood and I might as well take it out on someone.

WTF! How does the PREZ get off telling the people of New Orleans that he has not forgotten about them, but it is going to take a long time to rebuild their homes and life. This is some of the most unbelievable bullshit that I have ever heard. If he hasn't forgotten about them why in the hell are there still black neighborhoods without power. Why are there people living in these less than desirable trailers. Why is it that the White neighborhoods are back to functioning and watching the rebuilding take place whereas the blacks are still waiting for assistance. This administration has always been one sided and will continue to be that way. I am tired of these lost pitiful assed New age black folk walking around supporting BUSH and his Administration. I am hoping and praying for the day when they stop pretending and just come out and call all of you Niggers. I mean this is ridiculous they say the 44 billion of the 110 billion dollars set aside has been spent. Where is this money being spent? Who is being held accountable for the money? And who is speaking up for the people who are still homeless.

On the other side of the world, now the Marines are recalling soldiers to go to Iraq. WTF! This is fugging ridiculous as well. Now they are doing mandatory recalls because they have spent too much time in Iraq and the guys that are currently in the Service are spent. This WAR or Occupation is going to affect the US in the same way that Vietnam did. When our troops return they are going to be lost. Look at the number of soldiers who came back from Desert Storm with post traumatic stress disorder. Those numbers will pale in comparison after this mess is over. The people of this country need to take a serious stand and get these guys back home where they belong. This staying the course bullshit just to make your mark in History is as stupid as the person doing it.

Hey for all of you idiots who do not understand Terrorism let me help you out. You can fight for 400 years if you want and you will never get rid of Terrorism. The truth of the matter is the more you fight the more people sympathize with and join or support the Terrorist groups. You idiot before Bush got into office the so called terror watch list had 18 names on it now there are more than several thousand. Terrorism is not going to go away because it has always been around. The US itself when it was formed used terrorist tactics to fight the British, and the Native Americans. As long as there are people who do not have the means to fight a conventional war you are going to have terrorism.

you dumbass

Epiphany

Wow, this is a post that is not filled with sarcasm or anger... I am not sure if I should go forward. Anywho, last night I happened to stumble upon the "the State of Black America" program on TV1. As I sat there and listened to the speakers, I realized that they where talking about the same things the a group of friends and myself had been talking about that weekend. This drew me in deeper into the program. After watching about 15 minutes of it I was hooked. The speakers seemed to not be concerned with being PC but rather getting the information out to the people.

As Tavis Smiley hosted the discussions he mentioned the book "Covenant with Black America" inside of this book where essays written by the speakers that where on the panel. I immediately ran to my computer and looked up the web site www.covenantwithblackamerica.com here I not only found the book but alot of other relative and useful information. They say that sometimes it is the lightest movement which causes a world of change. Well I am happy to say that my Avalanche has begun. What you thought I was going to tell you about the site, program, and the book. Go look it up for yourself and buy the book.

Coming to Our Census

Good Morning,

The Census data that was released recently, pointed out a fact that we knew was coming. The Hispanic population in the US has grown to about 14.5 percent, whereas blacks make-up 12.8 percent. The States that have shown the greatest increase in Hispanic population rise were South Carolina and Arkansas by 47% and 48% respectively. The underside of this census data that was collected was that whites are increasingly becoming the new minority. I guess at the rate of growth that is going on, the U.S. will no longer be a melting pot but instead the United States of Latino. At this point we should just remove the southern borders and just colonize all of the Americas. That way there will be no need to migrate to North America.

I mean honestly since we are on the bush to spread Democracy to the world we may as well start in our own backyard. And in doing so we take the nasty stigma of illegal alien off of all of our potential migrant workers. While at the same time helping to improve the health and welfare of the poor nations so close to home.

So it is because of this that I am going to say that we should start a movement to make central America a part of the United states. There are millions of workers living in these countries who would love to work in the US. So Bush should any of your storm troopers happen to read this I hope they pass the word on to you that, we would like to take over central America and make it part of the US, instead of going across the ocean trying to take over lands that we can not defend.

have a nice day...

I brought you into this, I can take you out!

These are the words that the PREZ, although not in context, told the Prime Minister of Iraq after he made clear his belief that the actions of Isreal where criminal. As it was stated President Bush had a 'Frank' discussion with the PM prior to his speech before congress. During their discussion they also discussed getting more equipment to the Iraqi troops so that they could better deal with the situation in Baghdad. Isn't this how it always starts, we help someone into power give them all kinds of equipment and power then when they no longer want to play ball with us we attack all over again. I don't know about you, but I am getting tired of watching recent history repeat itself. I mean at least have the common sense to allow at least 50 years go by before you repeat the same mistakes all over again. If this was a child that we are speaking about he would be on the short bus because obviously he has a learning disability. But this is no child this is the all too powerful US government. I don't think I will ever see a time where we will learn the lessons of our mistakes.

As far as the policy concerning the Prophecy of Revelations, it seems that Isreal at the moment is trying to hurry things along. I am thinking the last time I heard anything about Lebanon was back during the Reagan era. Cycles. At this point the US needs to just wash their hands of the issues in the Middle East and allow the Islamic countries to reclaim their land, which is rightfully theirs. Once this is done all hostilities in theat area will subside. Well that is my belief anyway and I can't remember the last time I received merit for anything that I believe so... With that said I shall move on.

I saw a story today that caught my eye and made me go hmmmm. It was about yes you guessed it the PREZ and his abuse of his power. The article stated that the president has issued over 800 signature statements to laws passed by Congress. What this means is that once the law hits his desk he then feels it is time for him to change amend or do whatever he feels to be right, mind you this is a man that probably didn't pass high school government with a B average. This practice although is not unusal the PREZ has taken it to a new level and obviously has abused it. The constitution was set up to include a system of checks and balances to prevent a modern day monarchy. There is some talk now being uttered around the Capitol about bringing charges against the PREZ for his obvious disregard for the constitution. hasn't he done that before? Oh well it is an interesting article and once I find all of the threads I will be sure to link them.

Bush meets with NAACP!

This morning I read several articles on the PREZ's invitation to speak at the NAACP convention. What does this really mean? To me absolutely nothing. As I see it what more can president Bush say to black people that will change what we think and feel about him. Lately it seems that he is on a definite black kick. He was in Africa issuing a so called apology to the Sudanese. When will he learn that the best think he can do for blacks is to step down out of office.

Now that I have vented lets get serious. In the articles that I read today, I saw a few things that made me stop and think. One obviously was the fact that President Bush had accepted the invitation to speak to the NAACP. This in itself raises questions about the agenda of the new regime at the NAACP. Does this mean that the new tactic for dealing with "racism" is to ignore all colors except for green?

The majority of the individuals on the power counsel of the NAACP are well off and do not struggle for much. This is a problem because I feel that maybe they have lost sight as to what is important to Colored People. In the 50's and before it was easy because money didn't mean a think if you where black you had problems. So we were all in the same boat. Now a days the lines have been blurred. All blacks are not lumped into a single pool. Today's attacks and issues are narrowed to the blacks with the least amount of say or power (by the way this also happens to be the largest group among blacks) those who straddle the poverty line. Today's tactics seek out these blacks and make sure that they remain where they are.

As a matter of practice the NAACP does not deal with these "social" issues because as they believe it would take away from the all important view on Racism. Now this is absurd and for any self respecting Black to take this position well in my mind should have bush speak for him. Social injustice is Racism or doesn't that connect.

'If I live in a place lets say ummm Germany in the 30's. I can't come right out and say things about Jews because they are deeply rooted into my society, but what I can do is to start making policy that undermines there position in my society until I get enough support to justify coming out and using a frontal attack.'

The social injustices in this country have lead to a division in the black community because now blacks are put into two different groups those with money and those without. This is a ploy to divide and conquer and for some reason blacks are not getting it. The sad thing is once the Young black men are removed from our society as is the case now. Those with money will start to see these same tactics being used against them. First the lower class has to fall, then the middle class will follow. Then guess who will be next.

All issues concerning people of color need to be addressed head on and the NAACP if it is going to call itself the voice of black America needs to wake up and start seeing this. We can not separate the two issues at hand "social bias" and "racism" they are one and the same. This "Victim like Thinking" gimmick is a joke and Julian Bond needs to be put on notice.

Blacks really need to quit bitching and get a job

Yesterday I read a blog entry from a young man in Ohio, who I assume goes by the name rob. According to his Myspace page he is 19 and a conservative. lol Anyway the reason I bring this up is because the young man had an entry entitled "Blacks really need to quit bitching and get a job" and I felt compelled to respond. I would have sent him a response but I really do not want to sign up for a myspace account. So I will put it here.

First being that I support most people who can make an intelligent argument, I had to say I read his blog entry with great expectations. What I found was an adolescent mind with no depth. Let me say this really quick I know there are hundreds of entries that have recently popped up concerning this topic because of the news of renewed discussions. And by no means is his the most ridiculous one it is just that his had a catchy title. So to Rob I say this learn exactly what it is that you are irate about and then open a history book. In your blog you say that the Jews where taken and slaughtered by Hitler, this is true. but also know that Hitler massacred Gays and Blacks as well before he ever started cleansing the Jews. Next also understand that the Jews did receive reparations, but I do understand that todays education system is lacking so you may have not learned this fact but, the Jews where given the land that belonged to the Palestinians that is why we have the issues in the middle east today between Israel and the Muslim countries. I would also like to admit my own ignorance and say that I do not know what happened between the Germans and the czech's but I will do some research and then address that issue as well. The main thing about reparations that you must understand is that it is not about monetary value, it is about atonement and basically admitting that what was done was wrong and apologizing for it. Once an official apology has been made all of the talks will go away. So please do not blame the liberals for this because this goes much further than a mindset and besides if I remember history correctly the freed slaves where promised 40 acres and a mule of which they never received. Have a nice day.

And in today's news...

Good Morning,

This morning I wanted to speak on the the current issues revolving around our troops in Iraq. Today I read an article that said Three US soldiers where tried and convicted of raping and killing an young Iraqi girl and her family. According to US officials the girl was over 25 but according to foreign sources they say that her identity card and death certificate show she was 14. At this point this information is
irrelevant. The problem here is that 4 soldiers went into a house and killed a man, his wife, and there two daughters allegedly after raping one of the daughters.

This is a shame, I understand that our troops are under a lot of stress, but this is uncalled for and as far as I am concerned these men should be handed the strictest punishment allowed by law. The aftermath of this event has seemingly caused 2 other soldiers their lives as Al-Qaeda has retaliated and killed 2 seemingly innocent soldiers for the rape and killing of the girl. Today Al-Qaeda released a video showing the mutilated bodies of the 2 soldiers and from what I understand so very graphic footage. So as far as I can see these guilty individuals should be tried for the deaths of all 7 individuals, because their lack of judgment and inability to think like humans has caused a much bigger problem.

All of this comes back to the point that we need to bring our soldiers home and get them out of this senseless war. We the American people and more importantly their families have suffered enough. This morning I
read an article about how the Army has met their recruiting goals this a month after high school graduations. It is sad that our government feeds on the youth of this country and for such a senseless endeavor.

I'm Baaack!

Hello to the two of you who actually read this. I know it has been
a while since I have written anything on this blog but Life has kept me
busy. But as I see it things are starting to settle down and I am about
to get back to my rants and taunts.

Oh yeah before we begin a great big congratulations goes out to Italy for winning the World Cup Yesterday. Vive Italia!

Okay now that the Public service announcements are out of the way lets get to work. The first story that caught my eye today, understand
there has been a lot going on but I really do not see the need to rehash so I'll start from today. It appears now that they have tested (and failed ) their intercontinental missle the US is looking for ways of dealing with N. Korea. But wait Iran is lumped into this as well? How
in the hell did Iran get lumped in with N. Korea, Lil Kim has been running around for years bragging about his missiles and capabilities, now all of a sudden Iran is his allie. As anyone who has stopped to read any of this site knows I believe the US just hates all countries in
the middle East with the exception of Saudi Arabia and the UAE or as I like to call them Big Business. This just goes to further my paranoia.

Now back to the Issue at hand. The US is afraid that the onset of the New Cold War will be anything but. Because we are no longer dealing with the civilized European mindset that our conventional cold war methods will no longer work. We are now dealing with less than intelligent mad men from the uncivilized East or non-whites. The US feels that the (terrorists) that have acquired nuclear capabilities are crazy enough to use them despite the pending ramifications of retaliation. Okay let me interject here with my ignorant and feeble mind. Wasn't Russia a terrorist? didn't they hold back from destroying the world over and over again? why would N. Korea be any different?

I for one hope I never have to eat my words but I feel that all of this could have and should have been avoided years ago. When we demanded that the USSR dismantle and discard their nuclear armaments we should have done the same then the other nations of the world may have followed suit but by the US being the only country allowed to have
weapons grade devices maybe they didn't feel so safe. Honestly think about it if your neighbor or the crazy guy down the street had a gun and you where told you couldn't have one would you feel safe? I think not.

The way I see it is a crazy war mongering "C" average imbecile can be entrusted with nuclear warheads then any blithering idiot in the
world should have the same right. well now that is all I am going to say for today. see ya tomorrow... provided that we are still here?

Jackson Invites Cosby

I had never seen the Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson cry in public. And he's seldom upstaged. Until, Bill Cosby came to town.

Last month Jackson invited Cosby to the annual Rainbow/PUSH conference for a conversation about controversial remarks the entertainer offered May 17 at an NAACP dinner in Washington, D.C. That's when America 's Jell-O Man shook things up by arguing that African Americans were betraying the legacy of civil rights victories.

"The lower economic people," he said, "are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting. They are buying things for their kids -- $500 sneakers for what? And won't spend $200 for "Hooked on Phonics!"

Thursday morning, Cosby showed no signs of repenting as he strode across the stage at the Sheraton Hotel ballroom before a standing-room-only crowd. Sporting a natty gold sports coat and dark glasses, he proceeded to unload a laundry list of black America 's self-imposed ills. The iconic actor and comedian kidded that he couldn't compete with the oratory of the Reverend but he preached circles around Jackson in their nearly hour-long conversation, delivering brutally frank one-liners and the toughest of love. The enemy, he argues, is us:

"There is a time, ladies and gentlemen, when we have to turn the mirror around." Cosby acknowledged he wasn't critiquing all blacks-just "the 50 percent of African Americans in the lower economic neighborhood who drop out of school," and the alarming proportions of black men in prison and black teenage mothers. The mostly black crowd seconded him with choruses of "Amens."

To critics who pose, it's unproductive to air our dirty laundry in public, he responds, "Your dirty laundry gets out of school at 2:30 every day. It's cursing on the way home, on the bus, train, in the candy store.

They are cursing and grabbing each other and going nowhere. And, the book bag is very, very thin because there's nothing in it."

"Don't worry about the white man," he adds. "I could care less about what white people think about me . . . let 'em talk. What are they saying that is different from what their grandfathers said and did to us? What is different is what we are doing to ourselves."

For those who say Cosby is just an elitist who's "got his" but doesn't understand the plight of the black poor, he reminds us that, "We're going to turn that mirror around. It's not just the poor-everybody's guilty."

Cosby and Jackson lamented that in the 50th year of Brown vs. Board of Education, our failings betray our legacy. Jackson dabbed away tears as he recalled the financial struggles at Fisk University, a historically black college and Jackson 's Alma mater.

When Cosby was done, the 1,000 people in the room all jumped to their feet in ovation. Long after Cosby had departed, I could not find a dissenter in the crowd. But in the hotel corridor I encountered a vintage poster for sale that said volumes. The poster, which advertised the Million Man March, was "discounted" to $5 Remember the Million Man March?

In 1995 Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan exhorted "a million sober, disciplined, committed, dedicated, inspired black men to meet in Washington on a day of atonement." In 2004, perhaps all that' s left of that call is a $5 poster. We have shed tears too many times, at too many watershed moments before. While the hopes they inspired have fallen by the wayside. Not this time. Cosby's plea to parents: "Before you get to the point where you say 'I can't do nothing with them'-do something with them."

Like:

Teach our children to speak English.

When the teacher calls, show up at the school.

When the idiot box starts spewing profane rap videos, turn it off.

Refrain from cursing around the kids.

Teach our boys that women should be cherished, not raped and demeaned.

Tell them that education is a prize we won with blood and tears, not a dishonor.

Stop making excuses for the agents and abettors of black-on-black crime.

It costs us nothing to do these things. But if we don't, it will cost us infinitely more tears.

Hardlining Islam

Once again the US stands firmly on their initiative to brow beat the Middle East.  It seems somewhat frightening how the US deals with and handles the Middle Eastern Countries.  The Secretary stated the other day that "Iran is a troublemaker in the international system, a central banker of terrorism. Security assurances are not on the table."  This was said in response to The Letter.

Is Iran that big of a threat I mean honestly they have not caused any problems for almost 20 years, so why is it now they are a hot item.  The thing that the US doesn't seem to state is that Iran has broken no laws to this point.  Why can't we just leave well enough alone.  It seems to me that we keep pushing these countries into a corner and leave them no option but to retaliate.  Seriously if this was about WMD or the controlling of said devices then the UN and the US would target N. Korea, which we still try to ignore.

George ,The Man of God, routine is getting old.  Christianity has been flawed for centuries and this is just another abuse of power hidden behind religion.  We all know of the prophecy, but it seems to me that the actions of the criminally insane will be the cause of fulfilling it more so than destiny.

Prison Corporation cont.

I have written a few times before about the the Prison Institution int the US.  This is becoming one of the fastest growing industries in the US ( if not already).  In an article released by the Seattle Post Intelligencer released on May 21, 2006.

"Prisons and jails added more than 1,000 inmates each week for a year, putting almost 2.2 million people, or one in every 136 U.S. residents, behind bars by last summer.

The total on June 30, 2005, was 56,428 more than at the same time in 2004, the government reported Sunday. That 2.6 percent increase from mid-2004 to mid-2005 translates into a weekly rise of 1,085 inmates."

These are the kinds of actions that privatizing the Prison system has brought us.  In order for this industry to be lucrative and profitable we must have people to fill the prisons.  It is sad that we have lobbyist who sit on the Hill just trying to extend and increase prison sentences for the mere sake of making a profit.  Of all of the issues that we have this is by far the sickest.  Yet we the US want to pass judgment on the rest of the world for how they treat their citizens.  Hey PREZ i believe this to is in that book that you hold so dearly " Judge not lest ye be judged".

Now to bring this home I have to add the racial factor into this equation.  According to the same article. "  In the 25-29 age group, an estimated 11.9 percent of black men were in prison or jails, compared with 3.9 percent of Hispanic males and 1.7 percent of white males."

This is one of the most  disturbing issues facing black people in the US today. we still do not get it.  This is GENOCIDE by removing the men from the population the numbers will decrease by the second or third generation.  Black folk you need to wake up before there is no one left to wake up.

Have a nice day.
