Black is in?

I have spoken to several sisters here lately who seem to think that Black Women are not revered in todays society.  Well now as a lover  and appreciator of Black Women let me address this topic in the public forum.

As a child growing up in the last century I had an unusual upbringing.  As I look around these days it seems almost alien and it would explain why women today feel the way they do.  I grew up surrounded by strong black women and being the  youngest  in the family at the time, I was always being watched over by women, grandmother, mother, aunts, cousins, neighbors.  I grew to respect and love all of the women in my life.  And seeing as how I grew up in a predominately black neighborhood all I knew where black women.  Growing up in an environment where I had great and beautiful black women to look up to like Angela Davis, Elaine Brown, and Pam Grier just to name a few.  Our black women where large in stature.  It is because of these types of women that to this day my eyes are fixed on the prize and do not stray.

Today Black women seem to feel as if they are not the "in thing"  well let me tell you this, you have never gone out of style.  Women of the world long to be you and do all they can to impersonate you.  Just look around I am sure you have seen or even know someone who has had collagen implants in their lips, or had their tush lifted to give it a fuller look.  And please do not forget about the hundreds of hours spent in the Tanning salon just to get what you where born with.  This is flattery at it highest point.

The Irony here lies in the fact that Black women do all they can to look white, whereas White women do all they can to gain the features of a Black woman.  I am sure we can all recall the J-lo incident whereas jenny made her name not on her talent but on her backing.  Then as soon as she got into the White public eye her ass became too big and she was ashamed of it.  But wait that is why she became famous, honestly no one thought it was her talent.  The unfortunate thing is as men all we can do is sit here and watch because if we say anything about the issue we are sure to catch a supreme cursing out.  But Sisters take heed that there are plenty of black MEN, and I use the word MEN with great care because every male is not a man, out here who love and adore you.  You just have to take off the armor and allow yourself to see and feel the love that is radiating out here.  Not all men are dogs or have ulterior motives, some just love Black women and want nothing more than to find one that they can call their own.
